Pending USSF approval, the Wilmington Hammerheads have announced the resigning of one of the 2011 breakout stars, Andres Cuero.
Cuero hails from Austin, Texas, and will join the Hammerheads for both his second season in Wilmington and his professional career. In 2011, the 21-year-old Cuero played in 22 games and notched three goals as well as one assist during regular season action.
“I’m very excited to play for the Hammerheads again and I’m looking to make an even bigger impact this year than I did in 2011,” said Cuero. “I’m looking forward to working hard and hopefully having another successful season in Wilmington.”
Before his professional career, Cuero played soccer at the college level for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, where he was named third-team NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region in 2008.

Andres Cuero was named to the USLPRO Team of the Week (7/12/2011) for scoring the game winning goal, as the Wilmington Hammerheads defeated Antigua at the Sticky Wicket Stadium.
S&E Entertainment congratulates Andres Cuero on scoring his first professional goal. Andres gave the Wilmington Hammerheads the lead against the Orlando City Lions in USLPRO league action, tucking away his shot, low and hard, into the back of the net in the 31st minute.
S&E Entertainment client Andres Cuero has signed a professional contract with the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USLPRO league.
