John “Jack” Traynor is the consummate defender – hard-working, strong in the tackle, and a student of the game able to defuse attacks before they endanger his goal. Since hoisting two national championships with his youth club (Scott Gallagher), he has anchored tremendously successful backlines at the highest levels of competition. His dedication and professional shine through in training, in matches, and reflects in his team-first mentality.
Jack played collegiate soccer at Notre Dame, was drafted 29th overall in the MLS Superdraft by the New York Red Bulls. Unable to reach a contract, Jack trialed with clubs in Europe before signing his first professional contract with Miami FC. He then returned to captain his home town team, A.C. St. Louis. In 2011, he lifted both the regular season championship and the playoff championship of the USLPRO league with the Orlando City Lions, playing in the stingiest defense in the league.
