After a successful career as a player that saw him lift the 2007 USL Championship Trophy and solidify defensive lines at every club he played for, Tim Velten has started his career as a coach. Currently, Tim serves as the assistant coach at Lindenwood University in St. Louis, MIssouri. He is guiding the club through its first year as a NCAA program and finishing his Masters degree.
As a player, Tim Velten embodied all of the characteristics of a prototypical defender: strong, fast, tenacious, and able to read the game to diffuse attacks before they become a danger to his goal. Velten was and still is a consummate professional who is truly a student of the game. His ability to break down an opposing team’s attack and frustrate opposing strikers looks deceptively easy; however, no one argues with the results. Success has followed Tim at every level, both individually and for his club.
